OUR ECO-FRIENDLY COMMITMENT
Our commitment to the environment is the deepest shade of green. We hold a certification with the Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®)— considered the gold standard for environmentally responsible printing. The stringent social, economic, and environmental criteria upheld by the FSC® are considered the most far-reaching and the most effective for fostering well-managed forestry. Custom Printing Inc. also has an environmental sustainability awareness and concern of our eco footprint. That’s why we are continually reviewing and improving upon our standards and practices in sustainability, recycling, waste and energy management.
PREPRESS DEPARTMENT
Our pre-press department is entirely electronic eliminating harmful chemicals. Plates are processed with non-toxic water based developing solution.
PRESS DEPARTMENT
The inks we use in our commercial printing – PMS and process colors – are vegetable and soy-based. Our press cleaning solutions are low-voc and water based. The coatings we use are aqueous and are water-based. We have sealed water fountain solution system which eliminates the use of ozone-damaging isopropyl alcohol. All ink is recycled to an authorized ink recycler who reconstitutes ink for reuse.
BINDERY DEPARTMENT
100% of the waste paper from our pressroom, bindery and offices is recycled. All corrugated material is bundled and recycled. Wood pallets are donated to the National Search Dog Foundation to help with their rubble pile.
MAILING FACILITY
By having our own mailing facility, we incorporate the use of postal trays to transfer materials from press to our mail house this has eliminated the use of corrugated boxes by 35% (10,000 – 15,000 boxes yearly). All ink jet & laser cartridges are returned to the supplier for reuse. All extra printed matter is returned to you or recycled. Contact us today if you have any questions.
